I grabbed some frozen strawberries so I could ice your bruising knees
But frozen things they all unfreeze and now I taste like...
All those frozen strawberries I used to chill your bruising knees,
Hot July ain't good to me
I'm pink and black and blue for you

I got bruises on my knees for you
And grass stains on my knees for you
Got holes in my new jeans for you
Got pink and black and blue

Live Forever

Elizabeth Peyton: the romantic, female version of Andy Warhol.

I hate flowers

I only paint them because they're cheaper than models and they don't move (Georgia O'Keeffe). Then, how does she do it so beautifully?! I have recently seen some of her paintings at The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art in Las Vegas and I must admit, I wasn't expecting much, mostly because we all know itinerary exhibitions often do not display the most representative works (I'm looking at you, Dali in Paris!) But man, was I wrong about this one!

Poppy Love

It must be the Remembrance Day poppy that I've been wearing all week...

Black or White?

I was watching this Romanian video from the 70's last night and the decor caught my attention. As much as I love colours, sometimes I do think everything looks better in black and white and I especially love the idea of white illustrations against a solid black background.

Renée Perle

"She is beautiful! The small mouth with the full painted lips! The ebony black eyes. From under her fur coat comes a warmth of perfume. The head looks petite on her long neck. Around her, I see a halo of magic."

Arlecchino, ti amo!

I guess my fascination with Dante's Pierrot and Harlequin started when I was little and instead of playing with baby dolls like most little girls, my best friend was a plastic Harlequin string puppet. Unfortunately it got tangled up in its own strings (a freak accident really!), but my fascination for these "vintage" and better dressed versions of the modern clowns will stay with me forever.

I swear I should've been a 60's child!

...so I could dress like Anita Pallenberg, tease my hair like Brigitte Bardot, wear fake eyelashes like Twiggy, sing like Jane Birkin and dance like Anna Karina in "Vivre sa vie", party like a Rolling Stone , do the mashed potato like Dee Dee Sharp's dancers, fall in love with a mod and ride a Vespa. Ah...what a life!
